Knowledgebase: How to Add Bookable Products

Some products take time to make. For this reason, food items like cakes are specially made to order.

If you’re selling an item like this, then you can create a bookable product where your buyers can book their orders in advance.

This way, you can organize your calendar and plan when to prepare the orders just in time for delivery!

Step 1 Go to Products; Add New

Select the products tab and click add new.

Step 2 Select Bookable Product

Select Bookable Product, for products that you want buyers to book in advance.

There are three product types:

1. Simple Product – products that have no variations.

2. Variable Product – products that have different variations and prices.

3. Bookable Product – products that can be ordered in advance and delivered on a selected date.

Step 3 Add Product Information

Enter important details such as product title, image, categories, payment method and delivery type.  Afterwards, scroll down to Booking Options and select booking duration.

Booking duration determines how long a booking lasts. You can set fixed blocks or customer defined blocks of time in minutes, hours, days and months.

Fixed Blocks

You can set your booking duration as 1 hour to enable customers to book their orders to be delivered at that specific time.

We recommend this for items that are time sensitive like cakes. For other items, you can generally set booking duration as 1 day.

Customer Defined Blocks

You can also give your customers the option to select their desired booking duration by selecting customer defined blocks. 

Simply set the maximum and minimum duration time. You can also enable the Calendar Range Picker to allow customers to set start and end date and duration will be calculated automatically. 

You can then choose how your calendar will look on the product page whether want your calendar to be displayed upon click or always visible.

To make sure that the booking is possible at the customer’s desired time, you can also tick the requires confirmation box for you to be able to approve or confirm the booking first. 

You can also allow a customer to cancel the booking by checking the can be cancelled box and select the minimum lead time for cancellation.

Ideally, set it at the time before you make the order so that the food won’t go to waste. 

If you are going to make the order one day before delivery, set cancellation date at at least 2 days before delivery or booking date. 

Step 4.1 Go to Availability; Set blocks for booking

Under availability, you can set how many bookings can be made per block and the time frame that is bookable.

Max Bookings per block is the counterpart of stock amount. This is the maximum amount of orders you are willing to take for one day or hour depending on your set booking duration.

Minimum block bookable is the soonest time customers will be able to book an order.

Maximum block bookable is the longest time customers will be ale to book their order. 

Set your minimum block bookable to 2 days if you require a 2 day lead time for bookings.

If you want to receive orders only up to 1 month ahead, set your maximum bookable block to 1 month.

Step 4.2 Set bookable dates

Here, you can set all dates to be available by default. You may set a schedule block where bookings can or cannot be made. 

You can restrict bookable days to only weekdays or weekends depending on when you can deliver orders.  

Step 4.3 Set date rules

You can further your booking calendar, you can create rules and their priority.

If for example you want to make specific weekends available for booking or specific days unavailable for booking, you can set them in the rules.

You can arrange rules by priority the lower the number, the higher the priority therefore, 1 is the rule that will be most prioritized.

Step 6 Go to Cost

To set price for your bookable product, go to the Cost tab. Under Cost, you can set the base cost for your product, as well as the booking cost.

Step 7 Click Submit

Once you have completed entering all the necessary information, click submit on the lower right side of your screen to publish your bookable product.

You can also select a draft to save your product info and publish it later on.
