Knowledgebase: How to Add Products with Variations

Do you have product offerings in different sizes, flavors and variations at different prices? If you do, then this tutorial is perfect for you! Here, you will learn how to upload your products as a variable product. 

Step 1 Go to Products; Add New

From your seller dashboard, click products on the functions tab on the left. You then click the add product button on the upper right corner of your dashboard. 

Step 2 Select Variable Product as product type

There are three product types:

1. Simple Product – products that have no variations.

2. Variable Product – products that have different variations and prices.

3. Bookable Product – products that can be ordered in advance and delivered on a selected date.

Step 2 Add Product Info

Enter important details such as product title, upload image, and select categories that your product falls under.

You may also add product weight, size or quantity on the short description field.

You can enter more information about your product in the description field.

Then, select the payment methods and delivery type applicable.

Step 3 Add Attributes

Select the Attributes tab and click add.

Next, fill up the attribute name or category. Some examples are: size, flavor or even packaging.

Afterwards, enter attribute values and separate each value with a “|” (Shift+\). This is where may enter your product variations such as sweet | spicy or junior | regular | jumbo. 

Make sure to tick Active, Visible on Page, and Use as Variation. This is an important step so make sure you don’t forget this. 

Step 4 Input Product Variations

Go to the Variations tab and select the variation. You may also set the default variation that will be selected when buyers go to your product page.

Click the down arrow on the right side of the screen to input other variation information. 

Make sure to input the price, tick Enable and tick Manage Stock boxes. Then, input the stock quantity. Leaving the stock amount blank will automatically mark your product variation as out of stock.

You have the option to upload an image, add description, and allow back-orders. Allowing back-orders will enable your customer to purchase your product even if the stock quantity is zero.  

Step 5 Click Submit

After reviewing all product details, simply click the submit button on the lower right side of your screen to publish your product. You can also select draft to save your product info and publish it later on.

And you’re done! Congratulations! You can now view your products with variations on the TippyMart website and start selling your products online!
